Inspection No. 70-820/89-01.

This refers to the saf'ety inspection conducted by Mr. J. Roth' of this office on August' 24-26, 1989 for the purpose of obtaining water samples from selected monitoring wells, to_ examine the stat'us of decommissioning of the facilities and land and to report the.results of analyses from water samples which were-previously collected on September 14-15, 1988. Discussions of our. findings were held throughout the inspection by Mr. Roth with either Mr. Hegeson or Mr. Partelo of your staff. The inspection consisted of selected examination of records, interviews with personnel, and observations and measurements by the inspector.

No violations were observed. No reply to this letter is required.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and the enclosed inspection report will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room.
