Dear Mr. Liparulo:
The staff has asked contractors to perform analyses to support their review of Chapter 3 of the l
AP600 SSAR A brief discussion of the analyses contained in these reports will be included in the staffs final safety evaluation report. The reports from the contractors are attached for your information. Enclosure 1 is a report entitled " Confirmatory Soil-Structure Interaction Analysis of the Westinghouse AP600 Nuclear Island Structures" by Carl Costantino, and Quazi Hossain.

Containment Vessel" by L. Greimann, F. Fanous, R. Challa, and D. Bluhm. Enclosure 3 is a report entitled "Three-dimensional Buckling Analysis for the AP600 Standard Plant Containment Vessel" oy L. Greimann, F. Fanous, S. Safer, H. El-Arabaty, A. Khalil, and D. Bluhm.
Enciosure 4 is a report entitled "Three dimensional Analysis of AP600 Standard Plant Shield Building Roof" by L. Greimann, F. Fanous, S. Safer, A. Khalil, and D. Bluhm. design certification be exempt from mandatory public disclosure. While the staff has not completed its review of your request in accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 2.790, that portion of the submitted information is being withheld from public disclosure pending the staffs final determination. The staff concludes that these follow on questions do not contain those portions of the information for which exemption is sought. However, the staff will withhold this letter from public disclosure for 30 calendar days from the date of this letter to allow
