Commonwealth Edison Company (the licensee for the Zion facility) will discuss its decommissioning plans and the NRC staff will discuss the NRC regulatory programs applicable to decommissioning activities.

PUBLIC MEETING REGULATORY PROCESS FOR THE DECOMMISSIONING OF A NUCLEAR POWER PLANT AND THE DECOMMISSIONING OF THE ZION NUCLEAR POWER STATION MONDAY, JUNE 1,1998 6:30 - 7:00 p.m. Sign-up list for members of the public desiring to comment or to obtain a transcript of the meeting. Each person who signs-up, depending on the number and time available, will be able to make comments during the public comment period. Persons wanting to comment who did not sign-up may be heard if time permits.  ;

7:00 p.m. Dr. Don Moon, Co-Chairman, Citizens Advisory Panel and President, 1 Shimer College, opens the meeting, describes the purpose of meeting, and briefs attendees on the agenda.

l 7:10 p.m. The licensee describes the decommissioning program for the Zion Nuclear l Power Station.

7:40 p.m. The NRC discusses the regulatory process for the decommissioning of a nuclear power plant including the license termination process and future plant oversight.

8:10 p.m. Public question and answer period followed by public comment period.

9:00 p.m. Closing remarks by Dr. Moon and adjournment. NRC staff will remain after adjoumment if necessary.
