DOCKET NOS. 50-445 AND 50-446 SOLDERING IN ELGAR INVERTERS SDAR: CP-89-018 (INTERIM REPORT)
Gentlemen:
On June 26, 1989, TU Electric verbally notified the NRC of a potentially reportable deficiency under. the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e) concerning printed circuit boards in Elgar inverters.
During startup ectivities, cracks and broken solder joints have been identified on printed circuit boards in Elgar inverters.
Further evaluation is required to establish the safety significance of this issue.
l TU Electric will provide a final report on this issue prior to Unit 1 fuel load.
