Dear Dr. Murley:
The purpose of this' letter is to provide the Leak-Before-Break (LBB) evaluation for stainless steel piping.for Bryon and Braidwood Stations. A meeting was held with members of your staff on May 3, 1989.
During the meeting, Commonwealth Edison presented the LBB program for stainless steel
. piping systems that included the reactor coolant bypass line, the s:2fety injection accumulator line,.and the residual heat removal uiuction piping. The report contained in Attachment A provides the detailed evaluation.
Commonwealth Edison requests approval of the LBB program for stainless steel piping by December 20, 1989, to allow the analysis to be used for the-1990 refueling outages for the Byron and Braidwood Stations.
