DOCKET N05. 50-445 AND 50-446 AUXILIARY FEEDWATER PUMP MOTOR FAN BOLTS SDAR: CP-89-010 (INTERIM REPORT) i Gentlemen:

On April 21, 1989 TU Electric verbally notified your Mr. S. D. Bitter of a

' i deficiency involving the bolts used to secure the auxiiiary feedvater pump motor fans to the rotor.

Specifically, carbon steel bolts were substituted in I

place of the originally supplied silicon / bronze bolts.

This is an interim report of a potentially reportable item under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e).

Further evaluation is required to establish the safety significance of this potentially reportable deficiency. TV Electric will submit the final report on this issue prior to fuel load for Unit 1.
