1 The purpose of this letter is to provide you written l

notification that the initial Licensed Operator Training Program and the Licensed Operator Retraining Program for both Unit No. 1 and 2

of Beaver Valley Power Station are accredited by the National Academy for Nuclear Training and are based upon a systems approach to training.

Initial accreditation of these Operator Programs was achieved in December of 1985.

We understand that this notification provides us the option to i

carry out program revisions in accordance with the guidelines of l

10CFR55 and without prior NRC Staff review and approval.

The l

overall' approach for Beaver Valley operator training remains focused on developing and maintaining qualified operators, and to meet the intent of applicable regulations and standards.

This notification -is provided to allow local control over initiating l

program changes identified through our systems approach to training.

Administrative procedures are in place to control these i

program changes and provide for necessary internal reviews and approvals by Beaver Valley Power Station management.
