Dear Mr. Sellman:

An NRC inspection was conducted September 16-20,1996, at your Waterford Steam
j
Electric Station, Unit 3 reactor f acility. The enclosed report presents the scope and results
j
of that inspection. The inspection covered portions of the radiation protection program.
The areas reviewed included radiation exposure controls, training and qualifications, and
!
implementation of the program to maintain occupational radiation exposure as low as is
reasonably achievable.
In general, the inspection confirmed that the portions of the radiation protection program
reviewed were properly implemented and maintained.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter
and its enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
Should you have any questions concerning this inspection, we will be pleased to discuss
them with you.
