O The GPUN letter to the NRC dated March 18,1997 (Reference 3) identified that TMI-l is a member of the Joint Owners Group (JOG) and the BWR Owners Group. Accordingly, TMI-l is committed to following the JOG's Periodic Verification Program for MOVs, as outlired in Topical Report NEDC-32719, the details of which were provided to the NRC on March 7,1997.
On October 30,1997, the NRC issued a Safety Evaluation (SE) which within the conditions and limitations described in the SE (Reference 1) stated that the Staff considers the Joint Owners j'
Group Program on MOV Periodic Verification an acceptable response to GL 96-05.

This letter docum6nts tha't GPUN plans to continue participating in the JOG Program as described in Topical Report NEDC-32719, Revision 2 and in accordance with the NRC Safety Evaluation. No deviations from the JOG program have been identified.
