II. Stanley letter to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission dated August 30, 1996, transmitting Request to Amend Technical Specification " Steam Generators" In the referenced letter, the Commonwealth Edison Company (Comed) requested that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) approve a Technical Specification amendment request for Technical Specification Section 3/4.4.5 " Steam Generators" for Braidwood Station. This section describes the necessary surveillance requirements and acceptance criteria to determine steam generator operability. A change was necessary to preclude a mid-cycle inspection of the Unit I steam generators.
Subsequent to that submittal, in October of 1996, Braidwood Unit I shutdown to conduct a midcycle inspection of the steam generators; therefore, the aforementioned Technical Specification amendment request is no longer necessary. Comed is submitting this correspondence to officially withdraw that amendment request. Please address any questions to this office.
