COMANCHE PEAK STEAM ELECTRIC STATION (CPSES)

DOCKET-NOS. 50-445 AND 50-446 CLARIFICATION OF 6.9kV/480V TRANSFORMER BUS BAR CLEARANCE SDAR-CP-87-121 (SUPPLEMENTAL REPORT)

Geltlemen:

On ilanuary '6,1988, TU Electric's report logged TXX-88025 provided notification of a reportable deficiency involving the 6.9kV/480V transformer bus bar clearance. The latest report on this issue was logged TXX-88671, dated September-19, 1988. The purpose of_this report is to clarify the corrective action taken to address. insufficient cable slack.

In TXX-88025, TV Electric noted that there was insufficient slack to accommodate seismic displacements in the 6.9kV jumper cable between the transformers and the Unit'l-transformer cabinet. To resolve this item, the existing cable slack in the 6.9kV bus bar systems was measured and cables with insufficient slack were replaced.

Supporting documentation for Unit 1 is available for NRC review at' the CPSES site. Unit 2 corrective actions will be 7 completed prior to Unit 2 fuel load.

Sincerely,

/
