OPERATIONS SLMIARY JUNE 1989 The unit entered the month of June operating'at 100% power producing approximately 370 MWe. On June 4, a power reduction to 90% occurred due to an equipment failure in the Integrated Control System.

Power was returned to 100%

within one hour. The plant operated the remainder of the month at 100% power producing approximately 870 MWe.

i MAJOR SAFETY RELATED MAINTENANCE During June, the following major maintenance activities were performed on safety-related equipment:

Feedwater System Vent Valve (FW-V-55A)

A bonnet to body leak was sealed on valve FW-V-55A by injecting Furmanite compound.

Primary Neutralizing Tank (WDL-T-8)

Primary Neutralizing Tank WDL-T-8 was removed from service during the month to repair a pin hole leak. All weld inspections were found satisfactory and the.

weld area on the exterior of the tank painted. Work will continua in July with recoating the tank interior and repairing the tank mixer WDL-M-1.

Waste Gas System Flow Transmitter (WDG-FT ',23) 1 Wasta Gas Release Flow Transmitter WDG-FT-123 was replaced in June becauss it I

was of an obsoitte design. All testing was completed satisfsetorily and the system was returned to service.
