Attached'is a copy of the remedial exercise report on the February 1,

'1989, r==aM al exercises conducted to correct a deficiency identified during the nc +e*=r 22, 1987, full-participation exercise'for the 7hree Mile Island Nuclear Power Station.

The deficiency was the result-of the non-participation of Iower Paxton Township and the failure of Dauphin County to take action to protect the health and safety.of Iower Paxton Township residents. The Ihuphin County ruunadial. exercise indicated that Dauphin County has the-capability to inplement contingency prrv, achives to address the failure of nunicipal officials to ri:=s ctai e to an emergency. The Iower Paxton 7bwnship r==adial exercise demonstrated.that 7bwnship officials can take protective measures to protect the health and' safety of its residents.-

Maaad on the results'of;the October 22, 1987, full-participation exercise and the February 1,1989, r==adial exercises, the offsite radiological emergency prepardi:E.s for Ihree Mile Island is adequate to provide reasonable assurance that appropriate measuru can be taken to protect the health and safety of the public in the event of an accident at the Three Mile Island Nuclear Power Station.
