8-NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION p

o

' 7, e t WASHINGTON, D. C. 20555 NAR 14 1989 MEMORANDUM FOR:

Victor Stello, Jr., EDO FROM:

ames R. Shea, Director, GPA/IP

SUBJECT:

NRC SIX-MONTH WORKING LIST OF INTERNATIONAL MEETINGS The March 1989 update of our international meeting list again includes a subject meeting list according to NRC's program structure as well as a chronological list. The same meetings appear on both lists.

Meetings which were not on last month's list have the starting date underlined on the chronological list.

Those meetings which require participation from a policy perspective are marked with an asterisk.

Unmarked meetings are to be judged on their technical / programmatic merits, consistent with your International Program Plan.

In accord with agreed international priorities between the EDO staff and GPA (as reflected in SECY-88-158), the lead participant at each asterisked meeting is required to clear his or her position with both the ED0 and-GPA prior to undertaking travel.

In addition, promptly upon return from the meeting, we have committed to provide a brief summary for the Commission on what transpired at the meeting as well as any policy implications for the NRC.

This is also the responsibility of the lead participant.

The last enclosure lists the foreign trip reports received by IP in the past month.

NRC participants who have already been nominated or who are expected to attend any of the following meetings are indicated.

Our contact for nominating NRC participants to the meetings is Marge Mahy (x20335).
