REFERENCE:

(1) NRC Letter, James G. Partlow, Associate Director for Projects - NRR, to All Power Reactor Licensees and Applicants for an Operating License (8907060026).

On April 30, 1987, LACBWR was permanently shut down. All spent fuel has been transferred from the reactor to the Spent Fuel Element Storage Well (FESW). On August 4, 1987, License No. DPR-45 was. amended to a possess-but-do-not-operate status and further amended to a full-term possession-only license by Amendment No. 63 dated August 18, 1988.

In response to the request contained in your letter (Reference 1), we wish to advise that since the LACBWR plant is permanently shut down and in the SAFSTOR mode, we do not anticipate any new license applications for fiscal years 1990 through 1993.

In regard to dates for scheduled requalification examinations during fiscal years 1990 through 1993, the situation at the LACBWR facility is somewhat unique. The individual responsible for training is also a Shift Supervisor (SRO) and, as such, works a rotating shift. Therefore, he schedules the requalification examinations for each crew to fit his work schedule during the month of December. Since the crew size is very small, p
