The reactor operated continuously in February with the following exceptions: four shutdowns

for scheduled maintenance and/or refueling; one unscheduled shutdowns.

' On February 10, a " rod not in contact with magnet rod run in occurred when control blade 'A' separated from its magnet. An operator was performing a normal sample handling evolution at the time, and had bumped the control blade drive mechanism. The drive mechanism was inspected j and the magnet seating surface was cleaned. The following maintenance day (Feb.16) the drive

-mechanism and magnet were brought to the Electronics Shop for testing. No problems were 1 identified with either one. The rod was subsequently pull tested satisfactorily and found to have a typical pull weight of 42 pounds.

Major maintenance items for the month included beginning the cooling tower rebuilding project.

Cell #1 has been completed.
