Operating License No. DPR-73 Docket No. 50-320 Response to Generic Letter 89-04 NRC Generic Letter 89-04 provides guidance on developing and/or revising inservice testing (IST) programs to satisfy the requirements of 10 CFR 50.55a. GPU Nuclear has reviewed the information presented in Generic Letter 89-04 as it pertains to TMI-2 in its present condition. Although TMI-2 has an IST program, an exemption reauest to delete this program is pending NRC approval (reference GPU Nuclear letter 4410-86-L-0075, dated May 15, 1986).
Therefore, GPU Nuclear does not intend to revise the current TMI-2 IST program pending the outcome of this request. If a decision is made to restart TMI-2, this NRC Generic Letter will be re-evaluated.
