TheDivisionof' Low-LevelWasteManagementandDecommissioning(LLWM)has recently completed a' review of the subject report, related to an alternative-method of.LLW' disposal. The report was developed by the D0E_and was made.

available to the' States and' interested parties by DOE, at the time'of.its submittalito the NRC for. review, in November 1988.

LLWM is transmitting the results of our technical review to Dr. Joseph ~ A. Coleman-of DOE. 'We have attached the products'of that review to this memo, and request that your 0ffice transmit this information to the appropriate State licensing -

authorities.
