DOCKETS 50-266 AND 50-301 POINT BEACH NUCLEAR PLANT UNITS 1 &2 CLARIFICATION TO REPLY TO NOTICE OF VIOIATION 50-266/89017 &-50-301/89016 This letter clarifies our reply of June 27, 1989, to the notice of violation contained in Inspection Report 50-266/89017 for Unit'l and 50-301/89016 for Unit 2.
Attachment l' outlined the corrective actions taken in response to the notice of violation, results achieved and our proposed schedule-
. attaining full compliance.
Item 1 of that attachment described elements of the security awareness program which was developed and is being presented to plant employees by security management personnel.
The second' sentence _.of this item should be revised to read as follows:
"The program included the definition of safeguards information (SI)-and would enable plant employees to identify SI; determine whether'or not-it;is correctly marked and labeled; instruct them howlto properly handle SI while in use, storage and transmittal; arid to inform them of ramifications which can occur from a failure to' adhere to' established regulatory requirements.",
Page 3, Item 3 also contained a commitment to hold a review meeting by July 7, 1989, with members of the security management staff to evaluate accomplishments, improvements, progress achieved, outstanding tasks, and future direction of our SI program.
The subject meeting was held on June 28, 1989, and was attended by appropriate employees of the contract security organization in addition to Wisconsin Electric security management employees.
