REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION AFFRI TRIGA REACTOR FACILITY OPERATOR REQUALIFICATION PROGRAM DOCKET NO. 50-170

1. SECTION V, A. Preplanned Lecture _ Subjects The requirements of 10 CFR 55.59(c)(2) state that nine subject areas must be covered in the lecture series. Although you list the nine areas to be included in the lectures series, the last sentence of this section should be changed to read: "A mintnum of one lecture in each of these nine areas will be given during the requalification cycle."

2. SECTION V. C. Periodic Evaluations The requirements of 10 CFR 55.59(a)(2)(i) state that the annual written examination will sample the items specified in 10 CFR 55.41 and 10 CFR 55.43 to the extent applicable for facility. Furthermore, the requirements of 10 CFR 55.59(a)(2)(11) state that operators and senior operators must be examined such that they demonstrate an understanding of the ability to perform the actions necessary to accorplish a comprehensive sample of items specified in 10 CFR 55.45(a)(2) through (13) inclusive to the extent applica)1e to the facility. Please clarify which of these items are applicable to your facility and include a list of items to be included in the written and operating examination.
