MINUTES OF MEETING WITH WOG ON SURGE L1HE STRATIFICATION The staff met with Westinghouse Owners Group (WOG) on April 11, 1989, at NRC office in Rockville, Maryland. The purpose was to discuss WOG generic program on surge line stratification and overall schedules to provide responses to Bulletin 88-11. WOG presentation consisted of their collective; siforts and their generic approaches on plant grouping, plant parameter comparisons, bounding analysis on stresses and fatigue, &nd the plant specific monitoring programs. At the end of the meeting, the following understandings were reachec:
1.
A generic WOG report will be submitted for HRC review in two mon'ths (mid-June,1989).
2.
Each plant should complete bonding analysis /JC0 by the end of May, 1989. The analysis should assess all aspects of stratification and striping issues, including bounding evaluation on stresses and fatigue, based on currently available information. This means Item 1.b of the Bulletin requested actions should be completei nearly on Bulletin suggested schedule.
3.
The staff will visit Westinghouse in the week of May 15, 1989, to discuss generic bonding analysis.
4.
Proje:t Manager (Terence Chan) of this Multi-plant-action will respond to each licensee regarding requested schedule extension on Bulletin action item 1.b.
