Enclosed please find a request from Gama-Metrics to export 38.25 grams of high enriched uranium to Spain for use in the neutron flux monitoring system in ASCO nuclear plants Units 1 and 2. Dear Mr. Peterson:
Enclosed is our. application for a license to export special nuclear material to the Asc6 Nuclear Power Plants in Spain. The enrichedu.vaniumisinsealedfissionchambersusedasjetectors in a neutron flux monitoring system. The quantity of U in each fission chambers is 3.562 grams. As noted in block 25, the customer has not yet decided whether each detector assembly will contain one or two fission.chamberr. To allow adequate time to review and coordinate the application., we are submitting the application assuming two chambers per detector, resulting in the larger amount shown in blocks 16 and 20. If the customer elects to use one chamber per detector, we will export half that amount (as noted in block 25). The actual amount exported vill be entered in the records required by 10CFR110.53(b).
