Millstone Nuclear Power Station, Unit No. 3 Response to Request for Additional Information First 10-Year Interval In-Service Inspection Program Plan (TAC No. 60385)
In Reference (1), Northeast Nuclear Energy Company (NNECO) submitted a summary of the first 10-Year In-Service Inspection (ISI) Program summary.
In Refer-ence (2), the NRC requested additional information regarding the Millstone Unit No. 3 First 10-Year ISI Program Plan.
Specifically, the Staff requested that NNECO provide additional information on 13 items.
In Reference (3),
NNEC0 provided responses to all items except Item 6, and stated that the response to Item 6 would be submitted to the NRC prior t'o the second refueling outage. Accordingly, the response to Item 6 is provided herewith (see Attach-ment 1).
In addition, NNECO is hereby submitting Revision 2 of the ISI Program Plan (Attachment 2) which has been revised to incorporate the attached i
additional information.

t U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission B13231/ Attachment 1/Page 1 May 4, 1989 Millstone Nuclear Power Station, Unit No. 3 Response to Request for Additional Information First 10-Year Interval In-Service Inspection Proaram Plan Item No. 6 Sections 2.1.4.2, 2.2.4.2, and 2.3.3.2 of the Millstone Unit No. 3 plan state that the boundaries subject to system pressure tests, as well as the test
- programs, are included in the In-Service Test Program for Millstone Unit No. 3.
System pressure tests are part of the In-Service Inspection program as required by examination Categories B-P, C-H, D-A, D-B, and D-C in ASME 83S83.
Please provide a section in the ISI plan that contains complete system pressure test boundaries and a
test program that indicates test pressures, test temperatures, design and operating pressure of the systems to be tested, and any safety or relief valve settings in the system to be tested.
Response
Sections 2.1.4.2, 2.2.4.2, and 2.3.3.2 of the Millstone Unit No. 3 ISI Plan summary have been revised to indicate that the boundaries subject to system pressure test, as well as the test program, are included in the ISI program and implemented by the plant procedures.
New Sec-tions 2.1.4.4, 2.2.4.3, and 2.3.3.3 have been added to the Millstone Unit No. 3 ISI Plan summary to provide information regarding type of test, test pressure, test temperature, design and operating pressure of the systems to be tested for Class 1, 2,
and 3 components to meet the requirements of Code Categories B-P, C-H, D-A, D-B, and D-C.
