Health Physics Network Telephone System
Dear Mr. Martin:
The purpose of this letter is to provide information concerning the Health Physics Network (HPN) telephone system at the Wolf Creek Generating Station
.(WCGS). This information was discussed between Mr. G. Bates, NRC and Mr. K.
Moles, WCNOC, on March 16, 1989.
Wolf C' reek Nuclear Operating Corporation has reviewed the Reference and identified that the installation of the HPN telephone system is not consistent with the guidance in the Reference.
The WCCS Technical Support Center (TSC) has two separate commercial local telephone lines.
The WCGS Emergency Operations Facility (EOF) has one telephone set off each of the two lines into the TSC.
The
.present configuration was utilized during the 1988 Emergency Preparedness Exercise and found to be satisfactory and effective.
This information is being provided in the event the NRC wishes to initiate changes to the HPN telephone system consistent with guidance in the Reference.
