-1, Gordon E. 'Jdison, being duly sworn, state as follows:

I am employed by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission as Senior Operating Reactor Project Manager of the Turkey Point Plant, Units 3 and 4 in the Project L. rectorate I/II, Division of Reactor Projects 11-2, in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation I have provided the response to Interrogatory 5.

I hereby certify that the answer is true and correct to the best of nty knowledge.

B.S. degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Michigan State.

University.

Graduated with Highest Honors. Awarded a General Motors scholarship.

Member of Tau Beta Pi and Phi Kappa Phi academic honorsry organizations.

1965 - Ph.D. degree in Nuclear Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Thesis related to irradiation embrittlement of iron and nil-ductility transition temperature. Won a special fellowship for 3 years in Nuclear Science / Engineering.

Professional Employment 1965 Member of reactor physics staff of Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

1967 On staff of Westinghouse Electric Company designing liquid metal cooled fast breeder reactor.

  • 3 years reactor physics 4 years reactor systems design
  • 4 years reactor safety / reliability 1978 to - U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

Present ' 3 years Section Leader on Probabilistic Analysis Staff

  • 2 years Branch Chief for Technical Support to the Director of the Office for Nuclear Reactor Regulation
  • 2 years Deputy Projects Director for Babcock & Wilcox-designed plants
  • 4 years Senior Project Manager for several commercial pressurized water reactors.

I have 28 years experience in nuclear reactor engineering and management.

I have published numerous technical papers in professional journals and have made many presentations at technical society conferences related to nuclear reactor engineering. In addition, I have completed special training courses on nuclear reactor technical details. And I have served as a select member of a special incident response team at Rancho Seco Nuclear Plant, Unit 1. During my employment with the NRC I have received several awards from the flRC for outstanding achievement and high quality work.
