Letter. dated April 3, 1989 from J. W. Gallagher (PECo) to NRC
Dear-Sir:
The subject NRC Bulletin requested the licensees.take actions to provide' reasonable assurance that molded-case circuit breakers (MCCBs), including MCCDs used with motor controllers, purchased'for.use in safety-related applications withcut verifiable traceability to the circuit breaker manufacturer (CBM), are able to
- perform their safety functions.
The-referenced letter provided our response to the reporting requirements'of Bulletin 88-10.
In that response we stated that we had not determined the traceability of 140 MCCBS.
We 1
have since determined the traceability of all but three of these
}
MCCBa.
These three MCCBs are described below.

These three non-traceable MCCBs have not been tested and are being' retained in a " BOLD" status as advised by the Nuclear Management and Resources Council (NUMARC) letter of March-9, 1989.
