Dear Mr. Matthews:
Documents (PID's) y 3,1989, DOE transmitted a copy of two Project Interface By letter dstad'Ha Nos. 10-S-03, Rev.3, and 10-5 06 for NRC review and concurrence. The NRC staff has subsequently completed its review of PID 10-S-06 which deals with a change in the bedding source for the Green River site. The NRC staff has concluded the proposed change to be acceptable arni the bedding material source adequate. Therefore, DOE should modify the final RAP to reflect the changes as discussed in PID 10-S-06.
In addition, based on the PID and our visual inspection of the bedding material sources during a routine inspection of the Green River site on June 13, 1989, the NRC staff would recommend that DOE give consideration to using the Hastings bedding material on the pile to further reduce the amount of rock to be hauled from Fremont Junction.
