MEMORANDUM FOR:

Harold T. Peterson, Senior Health Physicist Radiation Protection and Health Effects Branch Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research FROM:

Kitty Dragonette, Senior Health Physicist Regulatory Branch Division of Low-Level Waste Management and Decommissioning Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards

SUBJECT:

ASSESSMENT OF IMPACTS OF THE REVISED RADON LIMIT IN TABLE 2 0F APPENDIX B TO 10 CFR PART 20 ON URANIUM RECOVERY LICENSEES Enclosed is the final version of the assessment for your retention and use.

It should be a part of the Regulatory History and I see no need to with-hold the document. A copy is being sent to the PDR.

If you will be the Project Manager for the Part 20 revisions of the Regulatory Guides, the assessment highlights a number of issues, problems, and needs that should be factored into the revisions.

1 Kitty Dragonette, Senior Health Physicist Regulatory Branch Division of Low-Level Waste Management and Decommissioning Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards
