A.

The. box labelled " unknown sources" contained targets that had been prepared and used by Professor Edward Melkonian for measurement of Pu cross-sections.

The targets were in sealed,' labeled packages.

The labelling indicated that a typical target contained about 0.5mg of Ps-239. The remaining material in the box (typically glass) were currently. being checked for activity.

Following the survey, a decision will be made as to appropriate action.for disposal.

Annual refresher training has been provided.
