OF JUNE 14, 1989 MEETING WITH GPU NUCLEAR ON CURRENT LICENSING ISSUES The NRC staff met with representatives of GPU Nuclear Corporation (GPUN) at the TMI Site near Middletown, Pennsylvania on June 14, 1989 to discuss the status and future actions of all active licensing issues. is a list of attendees at the meeting. Enclosure 2 is a listing of the activities discussed during the meeting.
The licensing activities as listed on Enclosure 2 provided the basis for the discussions.
Changes to future actions and dates on the list were specifically discussed.
The staff plans to issue a closeout letter for Salem-ATWS issue 4.5.3 in the near future.
GPU requested issuance of this letter by July 1.
GPU stated that the ATWS Rule Design Description that was to have been submitted to the NRC on May 15 has been delayed due to the need to internally resolve certain design details. A new target date was not available. The staff stated that TSCR No.190 on cycle-specific parameters is in final stages of review and that a telephone conference was scheduled for June 15 to discuss details of GPU's submittal.
