In accordance with references (a) and (b), enclosure (1) is submitted for your review. We request approval of our Quality Assurance (QA) Program for Shipping Packages of Radioactive Material for Navy Radioactive Materials Permit (NRMP)No. 53-00311-AINP.

It is requested that the Shipyard's current Quality Assurance Program which was modified and broadened to permit the one-time receipt and shipment of Type B quantities of encapsulated normal form radioactive material in a Specification 55 type shipping container (AN/UDM-1A cesium 137 gamma calibrator) and D0T Specification 20 WC-4 (overpack) outer shipping container be retained.
The AN/UDM-1A cesium 137 gamma calibrator is authorized for use by NRMP No. 53-00311-C1NP.
