Dear Mr. Davis:
This letter is being provided in response to the routine safeguards inspection conducted by Mr. T.J. Madeda and Ms. G.M. Christoffer of Region III from January 3-6 and 9, 1989, of activities at Braidwood Station.
Reference (a) indicated that no violations of NRC requirements had been identified during the course of this inspection. However, you requested that Commonwealth Edison (Edison) review our Security Physical fitness Program to assure that the agility test demonstrates an appropriate level of stress and physical effort to assure a level of adequate response during emergency conditions.

In response to this item, Edison met with the Region III staff on April 13, 1989, to get a better understanding of the NRC's concerns. During that meeting, the NRC staff granted an extension until April 21, 1989, for submittal of the written response to this issue. The Edison response is provided in the Enclosure.
