CP-89-021 (INTERIM REPORT)

Gentlemen:

On July 20, 1989, TU Electric verbally notified the NRC of a potential deficiency, involving spring packs. for motor operated valves (MOV's) supplied -

by Limtorque which may adversely affect torque. switch setpoints and render the MOV's inoperable. This is an interim report of a potentially reportable item

-under the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e).

The evaluation of the safety impact of this issue on plant operations-is

-continuing. The next report will be issued by Unit I fuel load.
