Dear Mr. Matthews:
We are in receipt of your May 15, 1989 submittal forwarding final specifications for the planned dewatering program:for the Durango/Bodo Canyon tailings cell; water. We have' reviewed the submitted material for cell dewatering and the; accompanying documents concerning settlement and stability.
7 Based upon our' review,- we find no problems with your. proposed course of actions.' Please keep us informed'as to the progress in~ removing the'disposa1L cell water as we want to continue to monitor the results and associated impacts to'.downgradient ground water.
We also want to note that the March 24, 1989 meeting notes contained in your submittal package'(Attachment 2-2) were inaccurate. -Several of the " bullets" in the second paragraph of the meeting notes under "NRC had the following l
comments" were incorrect and/or misleading.
NRC-suggests that in the future, we be able to review meeting notes for accuracy before they become part of the docket / record.
