CLOSURE OF OUTSTANDING ACTION ITEM 87-0198 - REQUEST FOR ASSISTANCE - REVIEW AND EVALUATION OF ACCEPTABILITY OF FAIRBANKS-MORSE DIESEL GENERATOR BEARINGS On June 17, 1987, DRS requested that NRR initiate a study / evaluation of Fairbanks-Morse diesel generator bearing problems. This request did not require a response.from NRR. This action item should have never been issued, as the memorandum in reality transferred the lead to NRR for the generic review of Fairbanks-Morse diesel generator bearing problems which Region III had found at Prairie Island and Fermi.

You are requested to close this action item, as Region III action has been completed with the submittal of this transfer of lead responsibility to NRR.

Any further action regarding this issue would be based on the priorities established by NRR for generic review.
