JUN 211989 Note to LCRouse TELEPHONE CONVERSATION WITH MR. SCOTT (818-883-7625) RE ROCKWELL INTERNATIONAL LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION l
On June 19, 1989, at the request of Region V I returned a call to Mr. Scott to j
discuss the Rockwell International (RI) license renewal application. Mr. Scott, a resident near the RI property, wanted to object to the issuance of a license to RI.
I described the license renewal process to Mr. Scott and referred him to the Federal Register notice of February 28, 1989, for the procedure to request a hearing.
After identifying his concerns, I suggested that Mr. Scott carefully differentiate between the DOE-sponsored activities and areas and the activities performed under NRC license.
I informed Mr. Scott that I had read recent newspaper articles on RI but that I had no other information about DOE-sponsored activities. Any discussion about 00E activities would have to be discussed with DOE representatives.
