REVIEW 0F FORT ST. VRAIN PRELIMINARY DECOMMISSIONING PLAN Public Service of Colorado (PSC) previously notified the NRC of its intent to terminate operations at Fort St. Vrain Nuclear Generating Station and has submitted a Preliminary Decommissioning Plan for review. As discussed with Pete Erickson and in agreement with the March 21, 1989 Memorandum regarding the transfer of regulatory authority for reactor decommissioning, we will be transmitting a Safety Analysis Report (SAR) and comments from the Regulatory Branch to the Non-Power Reactor, Decommissioning and Environmental Directorate Branch.
In order to develop the SAR, we are requesting the support of your staff in conducting this review. lists the areas to be reviewed and the requested reviewers. provides a tentative schedule for the review of the Preliminary Decommissioning Plan. We appreciate your staffs support in the review.
