Subject:

Invoice for Part 55 Services for June 21, 1987 through December 19, 1987.

Dear Ms. Stevenson:

This letter is being submitted in accordance with the provisions of 10CFR 15.31, " Disputed Debts." On December 14, 1988, NRC Invoice No. H0184 in the amount of $24,518.00 was issued to Maine Yankee for Part 55 services covering period June 21, 1987, through December 19, 1987.

A thorough search was performed through our files when the second notice arrived on February 14, 1989. Maine Yankee did not receive this first invoice in either December, 1988, or January, 1989. Upon receipt of the second notice on February 14, 1989, a telephone call was made to Ms. Janet M. Rodriguez of the Division of Accounting and Finance.

It was explained to her that Maine Yankee did not receive this first notice and that we were concerned about the 30 day interest charge. Ms. Rodriguez stated that perhaps the first invoice was either lost in the mail or mistakenly attached to a wrong document and that Maine Yankee would not be held accountable for any accrued interest charges if the payment was made within 30 days of the second stamped invoice.

Ms. Rodriguez was going to note the above facts on the original invoice.

On March 3,1989, Maine Yankee received a final notice for invoice No.

H0184.

This final notice was acknowledged and noted by our staff that the fee would be paid within the second 30 day invoice date. On March 6, 1989, Maine Yankee sent this payment of $24,518.00 (MN-89-27) for invoice No. H0184.
