u Please consider this letter as an expression of interest in Thames Valley
. State-Technical. College (TVSTC) becoming the relocation site for the local
- public. document room (LPDR) for the Millstone Nuclear Power Station.
. Outlined.below are factors TVSTC has in favor of us becoming the relocation-
~~ site'for the LPDR.
TVSTC is located within 50 miles of ten government document repositories.- Among these ten is the Connecticut State Library-which is the regional repository for Connecticut and Rhode Island.
TVSTC is not a document repository.
L TVSTC Library has ample physical. facilities available for patron workspace including copying equipment, shelf space, OCLC for Inter-Library Loan, and a FAX machine.
The library staff is willing and able to maintain the LPDR collec-tion and assist patrons in using the collection.
The staff con-sists of the Director, Learning Resources Center, Librarian, and Library Assistant.
Ddring the past year we have also enjoyed the help of student assistants and an intern from Southern Illinois University.
TVSTC Library owns materials that support one of three accredited associate degree programs for Nuclear Engineering Technology in the nation.

We are on'the local bus route, have ample parking space, and our college is just off the Connecticut Turnpike (I-395).
Our hours of operation are:
8:00 AM - 8:30 PM, Monday - Thursday j
8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Friday The Director, Learning Resources Center has experience in on-line data base searching (DIALOG and BRS) and is willing to take refresher modules and train his staff.
TVSTC is located within 20 miles of the Millstone Nuclear Power Station.
TVSTC and Northeast Utilities have participated in a mutu-ally beneficial industry / higher education partnership since 1983.
