As required by 1DCFR73.67, this is to notify you that a shipment of fuel from the WPI Nuclear Reactor Facility, NRC license No. R-61, will be made to the Savannah River Facility in Aiken, South Carolina from the WPI campus in Worcester,' Massachusetts on August 8 and 9,1989.

The shipment route and estimated times are listed below:

Massachusetts: WPI to I-290 to I-84 (CT) 11:00 am - 12:00 noon 8/8 Connecticut:

Savannah River Facility The material being transported is 3784 g of 93% enriched uranium fuel in the form of aluminum plates attached to 28 fuel elements numbered F-1 through i

F-25, F-29, F-30 and R-26, loaded in DOT 6m type B containers. Because of a limited irradiation, the total activity of the shipment is slightly below l

5 Ci with radiation levels well below 100 R/hr at 1 meter, precluding it from
