SUBJECT:
MINUTES OF CRGR MEETING NUMBER 160 The Committee to Review Generic Requirements (CRGR) met on Wednesday,' Marc'h 22, 1988 from 1:00 p.m.-4:00.p.m.
A list of attendees for this_ meeting is attached (Enclosure 1).
The following items were addressed at the meeting:
1.
R. Bosnak (RES) and F. Cardile (RES) presented for CRGR review three-proposed Regulatory Guides relating to nuclear reactor decommissioning, as follows:
" Format and Content of Nuclear Reactor Decommissioning Plans" a.
b.
" Records Important for Decommissioning' Nuclear Reactors"
" Assuring the Availability of Funds for Decommissioning Nuclear c.
' Reactors"-
The Committee recommended in favor of issuing for comment the proposed Reg. Guide on " Assuring the Availability of Funds for Decommissioning Nuclear Reactors" subject to several minor changes (to be coordinated with the CRGR staff).
The Committee made a number of recommendations for changes to the remaining two proposed decommissioning Reg. Guides and requested that they be resubmitted for further review at a future meeting.
This matter is discussed in Enclosure 2.
2.
L. Shao (NRR) and C. McCracken (NRR) presented for CRGR review a proposed Generic Letter on Pipe Wall Thinning.
The Committee recommended in favor of issuance of the proposed generic letter, subject to several minor changes (to be coordinated with the CRGR staff).
This matter is discussed in Enclosure 3.

In accordance with the E00's July 18, 1983 directive concerning " Feedback and Closure of CRGR Reviews," a written response is required from the cognizant office to report agreement or disagreement with the CRGR recommendations in these minutes.
The response, which is required within five working days after receipt of these minutes, is to be forwarded to the CRGR Chairman and if there ff is disagreement with CRGR recommendations, to the EDO for decisionmaking.
