Reference (a) transmitted the results of the inspection conducted by-1 Mr..D.E. Miller and others at your office on November 14-23 and December 9, 1988 of activities at LaSalle County Nuclear Station Units 1 and 2.
The inspection. focused on radiological controls.
This' letter.is being submitted to. restate LaSalle Stations' 1989 person-REM goal'.which.was mentioned on page 18 of the above mentioned. report.
On December 9, 1988, during a meeting between Commonwealth Edison Company and NRC Region III personnel to discuns ALARA' activities,.the l
person-REM goal for 1909 was discussed. At that time the goal.of 1969 had not V.
been finalistd (Inspection Report 373/88028, Page 18 indicates 1000
9 person-REM, however, this was an early estimate).
LaSalle Station has l'
projected that the esposure for 1989 would be approximately 1650 person-REM lL

- based on historical date for planned work. Ilowever, LaSalle Station has I
estabilshed a 1989 goal of 14t>0 person REM.
LaSalle believes this goal is aggressive,-but attainable.
