SUMMARY
OF OPERATING EXPERIENCES Highlights Vermont Yankee operated at 39.7% of rated thermal power for the month.
Gross electrical generation was 400,602 MWHe or 99.7% design electrical capacity.
Oparating Summary The following is a chronological description of plant operations including other pertinent items of interest for the month:
At the beginning of the reporting period the plant was operating at 99.9%
of rated thermal power.
890523 At 2350 hours0.0272 days <br />0.653 hours <br />0.00389 weeks <br />8.94175e-4 months <br />, began cooling tower operations and went to a hybrid cycle of operation.
Varying modes of cycle operation from this point on will be based upon river temperature considerations.
890526 At 1725 hours0.02 days <br />0.479 hours <br />0.00285 weeks <br />6.563625e-4 months <br />, power was reduced to 79% in order to open the 79-40 ATB and replace a faulty air pressure regulator solenoid.
(See Unit Shutdowns and Power Reductions) 890526 At 2019 hours0.0234 days <br />0.561 hours <br />0.00334 weeks <br />7.682295e-4 months <br />, the air pressure regulator solenoid was replaced.
The 79-40 ATB was closed and a return to full power was initiated.
At the end of the reporting period the plant was operating at 99.9% of rated thermal power.
