The item, Mr. Chairman, is SECY 88-12 325, entitled Policy Statement on Additional Applications 13 of Leak-Before-Break Technology.
14 The Commission, in this paper, is being asked to 15 t, e t on a policy statement indicating the Commission's 16 position on extending the leak-before-break concept to 17 emergency core cooling systems and equipment 18 qualifications.
19 All Commissioners have approved the policy 20 statement, with modifications proposed by Commissioners 21 Roberts and Curtiss.

1 22 Commission is not undertaking any rulemaking to extend the i
23 applicability of the leak-before-break to emergency core 24 cooling systems, or to environmental qualifications cl 25 safety-related electrical and mechanical equipment at this 1
