4.1 Local EOC 5

The Local Emergency Operations Center (EOC) for the 7

i Shoreham Nuclear Power Station is located at the LILCO 8

Brentwood Operations Facility.

This facility is the 9

permanent quarters of the Local Emergency Response 10 Organization /,LERO).

On a day to day basis, the 11 facility is operated 24 hours2.777778e-4 days <br />0.00667 hours <br />3.968254e-5 weeks <br />9.132e-6 months <br /> per day involved in LILCO 12 business activities.

During a radiological emergency, 13 however, a portion of this facility will be utilized as 14 the Local EOC.

15 16 The Local EOC will serve as the facility from which 17 offsite response functions will be directed and 18 controlled.

To accomplish this, the EOC will contain 29 the personnel and 9quipment necessary to effectively 20 inplement the emergency response.

to Suffolk County, one to' police headquarters who will provide the police with the locations and specific traffic control strategies for each of LILCO's 130 TCPs, requiring 165 officers.

Inform him that LERO will also be dispatching its own Traffic Guides to the TCPs to provide such i

Assure him that the Traffic Guides will monitor the police officers' possible exposure using the Traffic Guides' own dosimetry.

Important:

Advise the Suffolk County Executive to give LERO Traffic Guides permission to direct traffic and implement traffic strategies before the police arrive.

roadway impediments and dispense fuel to evacuating motorists using its own vehicles and trained emergency workers.
