'In ALAB-909, the Appeal Board affirmed a ruling by the on-site Licensing Board (LBP-88-31) which granted a motion for summary disposition filed by Applicants. Specifically, the Appeal Board affirmed the L. Licensing' Board's determination thet the RG-58 coaxial cable installed in j the Seabrook Station is environmentally qualified for its intended use.

F The Appeal Board noted, however, that the materials submitted by Applicants in support of their motion for summary disposition did not indicate whether "the substituted RG-59 cable has a color tracing in its jacket that reflects that it does not possess a safety-related fur.ction."

Id., slip op. at 5. Accordingly, the Appeal Board directed the NRC Staff to' verify that the color coding scheme in fact has been observed with respect to the substituted RG-59 cable, I_d .

As the attached inspection report indicates, the Staff has verified that the color coding scheme has been observed with respect to the See NRC Staff Inspection Report No. 50-443/89-01 '
