REFERENCE:
(a) Letter from Mr. G. C. Creel (BG&E) to NRC Document Control Desk, dated March 3,1989, same subject Gentlemen:
Reference (a) reported that the Combustion Engineering Owners Group (CEOG) had met with NRC Staff members, seeking relief from the schedule requirement of the subject bulletin. The NRC staff did not believe total relief was justified, but an agreement was reached.
The agreement included completion of a preliminary bounding evaluation of CEOG surge lines by July 1,
1989. The agreement did not address submittal-date requirements and we committed to a July 17, 1989 submittal in Reference (a).
On May 23,1989, a follow-up meeting between CEOG and NRC Staff members was held.
It was clarified at that meeting that submittals should be made. by July 30, 1989.
B?cause our submittal will be more interrelated with a CEOG submittal and/or a CEOG final report than we previously thought, we will be unable to respond by July 17, 1989.
Therefore, we intend to submit our response addressing Requested Action item 1.b of the subject bulletin by July 30, vice July 17, 1989.
