JOSEFH M. FARLEY NUCLEAR PIANT ADDENDUM CONCERNING REVISION 7 TO THE OFFSITE DOSE CALCULATION MANUAL Revision 7 to the Offsite Dose Calculation Manual (ODCM) was approved by the FORC on February 2, 1909, and became effective on April 3, 1989. The methodology described in Revision 7 is consistent with the previous revision with the following exceptions:
Revision 7 incorporates a change to the calculation of plume dispersion.
Under certain atmospheric conditions, this change results in a slightly more conservative estimate of the off-site dose. The change is being irilemented to ensure consistency with Regulatory Guide 1.111.
l
'rne values provided in Tables 6-1, 6-2, 6-3, and 6-4 for dispersion parameters X/Q and D/Q have been recalculated using the same methodology and meteorological data as FSAR Tables 2.3-21 and 2.3-22.
Advanced computer techniques and improved data resolution from magnetic tape have resulted in more accurate values hence the slight variations. These slight differences will not cause a significant difference in dose or dose rate calculations.
Revision 7 presents the equations from Regulatory Guide 1.109 with greater detail and follows the format of the Regulatory Guide more closely.
Editorial changes provide a more logical flow and include the sources of equations used in dose calculations.
It was determined by the PORC that this change does not reduce the accuracy or reliability of dose calculations or setpoint determinations.
The ODCM applies to Farley Nuclear Plant Units 1 and 2.
