APPROPRIATE LENGTH OF A PRE-DUTY ALC0HOL ABSTINENCE PERIOD 3
l In the Staff Requirements Memorandum of March 22, 1989, Item #5, the staff was asked to confirm that a four-hour abstinence period from alcohol is sufficient j
in most cases to eliminate the effects of moderate drinking. The enclosed draft report provide:: an analysis of this subject and recomends a five-hour pre-duty ebstinence period for alcohol. The staff plans to propose a five-hour abstinence period in the fitness-for-duty rule that is to be submitted to the Commission.
