State Notification of Amendments to Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant, Unit 1 - Revise TS for the Adoption of 10 CFR 50, Appendix J, Option B for Type B and C Testing and for Permanent Extension of Type A, B and C Leak Rate Test Frequencies Hello Mr. Cox, We are near completion of an amendment for the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant, Unit 1, to revise Technical Specifications (TS) 6.8.4.k, Containment Leakage Rate Testing Program, by replacing the reference to Regulatory Guide (RG) 1.163, Performance Based Containment Leak-Test Program ADAMS Accession No. ML003740058), with a reference to Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) 94-01, Revision 3-A, Industry Guideline for Implementing Performance-Based Option of 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix J (ADAMS Accession No. ML122210254 (package);
ML12221A202 (report)), and the conditions and limitations specified in NEI 94-01, Revision 2-A, of the same name, dated October 2008 (ADAMS Accession No. ML100620847).
The application is dated November 8, 2019 as supplemented by letter date April 16, 2020, (ADAMS Accession No. ML19312C931 and ML20107F843, respectively).
The no significant hazards consideration determination was noticed in the Federal Register on January 28, 2020 (85 FR 5052), attached.
